Fly fishing Ybbs district St. Georgen

From the Stegerbrücke bridge downstream to the new wooden bridge at the Blamau stop, the Ybbs runs through the St. Georgen district. This section with its crystal-clear water is the perfect example of how the grayling region of a running water is defined. The district offers the finest dry fly fishing for grayling, brown and rainbow trout. Long, calm stretches with many trickling stretches and then beautiful successive pools show the characteristics of this section of the river.

At the middle wooden bridge, the river drops gently over two small rocky steps, forming pools that are great for fishing. Watching the fish jumping and defending their territories is enough to make any angler’s heart beat faster.
